Terms of Service

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using the Ledger mobile application and web platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or professional firm, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Ledger, operated by Solveit Technology Lab, provides an AI-powered automated bookkeeping platform. Our service includes OCR (Optical Character Recognition) data extraction from financial documents, cloud storage, and a communication bridge between Merchants and Certified Accountants.

3. USER ACCOUNTS

Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.

Account Types

  • Merchants: Users who upload receipts and documents.
  • Accountants: Professional users who manage and audit the data uploaded by Merchants.

4. DATA OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the financial documents and data you upload.

License to Ledger

You grant Ledger a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process, host, and analyze your data solely to provide the automated bookkeeping service.

Accountant Access

By linking your account to a specific Accountant, you explicitly authorize them to view, edit, and export your financial data.

5. APPROPRIATE USE AND RESTRICTIONS

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purposes or to process fraudulent financial documents.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the OCR technology or bypass security features.
  • Upload documents containing malware or harmful code.
  • Impersonate any professional accountant or government official.

6. ACCURACY OF DATA (OCR DISCLAIMER)

Verification

While our AI/OCR technology is highly accurate, Ledger does not guarantee 100% error-free extraction.

User Responsibility

The user (Accountant/Merchant) is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the extracted data before submitting it for official tax or compliance purposes. Ledger is not liable for errors in tax filings resulting from unverified data.

7. PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

Fees

Fees for the Service are described on our website.

Promotional Access

Any "Free for 2026" or "Early Adopter" offers are subject to the specific terms of that promotion and may revert to a paid model upon notice.

Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

8. TERMINATION

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay fees, or use the Service in a way that risks the platform's security.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by Ethiopian law, Solveit Technology Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of Ledger.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Addis Ababa.
