About

Software that treats the invoice as law.

Ledger is built by SolveIt in Addis Ababa for businesses that would rather sell than argue with a form.

Mission

Every Ethiopian business — from a single till to a multi-branch company — should be able to issue an official, verifiable invoice in the language it works in, without a compliance department. We build the system that makes that the default.

02

Why compliance-native

Most software adds a tax module on top of a sales system. We did the reverse: Ledger starts from what Directive 1142/2018 E.C. requires of a fiscal document — the nine document types, the fields on each, the registration with the Ministry, the offline rules — and grows the ERP outward from there. An invoice is only valid once the authority answers, so the whole product is shaped around that answer.

Principles

  1. 01

The authority is the source of truth

A document is settled when EIMS says so, and the exchange is kept verbatim.

  2. 02

    Bilingual by construction

English and Amharic, and both calendars, on every screen and every document — not a translation layer.

  3. 03

    Offline is a normal day

The till keeps issuing when the network drops and resyncs without duplicates.

  4. 04

    Nothing is quietly changed

Append-only logs and row-level isolation, so a record you can show an auditor is the same one we stored.
